How to give subcutaneous injections - advice for carers on JIC

The guidance below provides information and guidance for carers and relatives who are being trained to give subcutaneous medications for symptom control to someone they are caring for. It should only be used alongside the one-to-one training given to a carer by a nurse.

At any time, if you are unsure or don’t feel comfortable in giving medication please let somebody know, the hospice adviceline or your district nurse. Community Nurses can take over.
